Welcome to Grade 10 Multi-ARts!
This course is the first in the two-year, multi-disciplinary arts program for secondary 4 and 5 students.
This program has been developed to allow students in the senior levels to explore the art form of their choice, as per their interests and background, within the broader context of the arts within society. The inquiry-based program will provide students with the opportunity to explore, examine and discuss work from all four arts ( visual art, dance, drama, and music) in order to inform their own artistic practice.
Every unit will include an examination of past and present art work and theory, and will provide opportunities for students to create/perform both individually and collaboratively. Within the context of this course, students may choose to focus mainly on one of the arts or to branch out and explore multiple art forms. There will be one photography unit where all students will be asked to do the same art. No special cameras are required, cell phones will be fine, and/ or there will be some cameras available to students at the school.
Both the Quebec Education Program Competencies and the IB Middle Years Programme Criteria will be covered and assessed throughout the year. Please see the ABOUT section for details.
